Hi all, I normally fly into Corvera or Almeria, but was thinking of trying Alicante, as Doncaster Airport is on my doorstep and they only fly to Alicante.

I am not familiar with the journey from there, so for the first time, I was thinking of using the executive shuttle bus to Mojacar and picking up a hire car from costa Coches, to then drive back to Zurgena. Just, so I can,  familiarise myself with the route, before I start hiring cars from Alicante Airport.

Any tips or thoughts on this would be most welcome.

Seems extremely sensible to me. Think you have it covered.

Just check on their website

www.exclusiveairportshuttles

To ensure their service is convenient to your flight's arrival. Also check if their Mojacar stop is convenient for Costa Coches-Mojacar or Antas. If the bus comes down the hill to Centro Commercial & then right you may need a taxi to Costa Coches. Mojacar.

Should be so simple and their ohone numbers & e mail are on.website.

Best Wishes,

Bob and Sandra

Yes thank you, I will, it’s just getting the flight to match their pick up at Alicante. I will check with Costa Coches to see if I can pick up at Antas too.

Thanks again for your info 😊 always so helpful!

We regularly drive from Alicante to near Urcal and Zurgena is a bit further, but not very complicated. Nearly all the way you are on one 'motorway', right from the airport, where hiring a car is easy (though there are sometimes queues at the desk as the reps try and sell each person insurance ).   If you have not got a satnav/smart phone you can hire a satnav with your car.  If you have got long term insurance for extras already, I have always been amazed how cheap it is, though it has been winter journeys for me.

Hi

Alicante to Huercal Overa area is 2 hour drive, easy route motorway within 2 klm of airport, traffic is very very light not like UK. Hire at airport and save on transfer, shop around, dont use on site rentals check out recommendations for meet and greet. Most reps carry portable card readers and these guys guarantee what they quote is what you pay, inclusive all insurance, we paid 260euro for 2 weeks in November.

Exclusive airport shuttles only do 1 trip a day to/from Alicante airport, and it leaves 12.30. you would have to ensure your flight arrival time leaves you enough time to get through passport control and collect your luggage etc.ready to meet the bus by 12.30. I have used it a number of times and sometimes have been on pins if my flight is delayed slightly. Personally I would fly to Corvera where the shuttle meets every flight and the airport is not as big or busy as Alicante.

Good advice! That’s a better plan, just wondered as Doncaster Airport is on my doorstep and they only fly to Alicante.

Thanks again!

Wow that’s good! We used to use Coys out of san javier, they are at Alicante, was just worried about heavy traffic out of Alicante Airport.

Many thanks
