Hi,

Recently our dearest friends had to have their elderly Husky euthanized. This was through the local Vet in.either Zurgena/Alfoquia or Albox. Poor Scarlet-she used to talk.to you.

Have asked Mike which Vet. Of course you have one in the village. Will get back to you but think Vets.might be your first contact point.

It was.Nexo vets in Albox. On Google Search & speaks English. 150€ for crem + ashes and 75€ no ashes but a large dog.

Condolences on your loss if appropriate.

Saludos,

Bob and Sandra

Thank you for your help with this.

As for appropriate , unfortunately we have to make a decision this evening, after three horrible days of watching our  pet loose liver and kidney functions.

Once again thank you for your help

Hi,

So sorry. Been there over the years both I and Sandra.

Actually Mike can't remember if that fee included the injections.

Best Wishes,

Bob and Sandra

Thank you Bob & Sandra,

We were assuming that all vets have some form of plan.

We are currently using Juan's vets in albox up near meracdonna,?

Didn't think to ask him at the time, other things on our minds!!

As daft as it seems we'll let the forum know how we get on, because we think that it may be of some help to others in the future

To all whomever you are in regards to my earlier post.

We have had to make a horrible decision in regards to our loved dog Noche (black Labrador)..

After three days of anguish and really feeling guilty we had him euthanased .

We would like to take this opportunity to update the forum of the very efficient way in which the vet Juan in albox vetinaria handled the whole affair,he advised us of what was available for the cremation services which were 3options.

1 take our pet home and bury him in a special place (garden) but we had to be aware that you cannot bury near a rambla or watershed area or near a septic tank.

2 A co-operative  cremation service is available which although cheaper you can't guarantee that the ashes are of your pet or that you will receive any ashes at all just a certificate of death.

3 a private cremation service which we chose and the vet arranged completelwhich takes your pet and returns the pets ashes in a urn with a death certificate.

May I point out that the overall cost of the above mentioned process and all other vet fees for our pet,for us was irrelevant, but totalled 460euros which we consider extremely reasonable.

Finally we would like to thank Bob and Sandra for there promt responses, and for there good wishes

Brian and Lynn.&(Noche )may he rest in peace

So sorry to hear of your loss.

Thank you so much for posting the results of your research into this sensitive subject. I know of someone who drove through the night, in shifts, to get their terminally ill pet back to England so that they could have his ashes returned to them.

Just to add to this post,  I use to live in Valencia where the crematorium there, allowed you to take the pet your self, watch as it is placed in the furness and then we returned  4 hrs later to collect ashes. The reason for us taking him our self was to make sure that no other animals were in there with him and we got just his ashes back. I have been told that, most crematoriums will do this if you ask. I have to say the guy at the crem was very respectful and caring. So sorry for your loss, its is heart breaking
