Hi there , am hoping somebody can help here i wish to install CCTV to my property i have no phone line and no internet but good mobile phone dignal is there a system i can install that will run off a sim card that i can check on via my phone or tablet when in uk, and if so any ideas to running cost for this , not the system just the day to day cost

To do that you’d need a 4G internet connection and then any one of the numerous IOT capable CCTV systems.  I would say Media Markt is possibly the best bet for CCTV, although I don’t know - could be a bit specialized for them - maybe obtain system in UK, install here then connect up to a normal 4G internet connection; there is a variety of providers for 4G internet

Hi ,

Thank you for the reply , i have the system plus router with unlocked sim i just wanted to know if you new the running cost monthly for a 2g dataonky sim i have tried e mialing companies ie Movistar etc but with no luck was hoping to sort before i come out but looks like will have to do it out there .

Hi Bob; I’m not sure you’d get 2G only now - most offer only 4G.  The best I have found is resold by http://www.4ginternet.es. They are carried by Vodaphone and I use this connection.  It costs 59,95€ per month and you get 200GB of data at 4G speed.

Yessssss 4G is a tad expensive.  I think Orange is cheaper, but it’s only a 50GB data allowance.

I guess it depends on how much data you are streaming.  If you are streaming Video data, you’ll use up 50GB quite easily I’d say - although you specified 2G data only initially, so I’m guessing it’s not true vídeo you’re streaming (2G won’t handle Video)

No purely to perhaps weekly to check hard drive on cctv system while I am in  I'm that will be its only useage
