I need to see a doctor in Vera for a problem with my eye.

Can anybody advise me on how quickly I am likely to be seen?, and is the registering process easy?

I am not a full time resident in Spain, but do have a second home here.

Are pharmacies allowed to prescribe or do they sell Chloramphenicol eye drops over the counter?

Thank you

Depending on the urgency you can try the following:

1. If you have drops with you take them to the chemist and ask them.  Personally I avoid the one near Consum  I find the guy there arsy.  It is also expensive.  There's another opposite the bull ring and one on the road from buganvillas to Garrucha.

2.  Go to the urgencias at the health centre Vera and Garrucha has them.  Yo will need to take your passport and Ehic/Ghic.  You will get urgent treatment with that.

3.  The hospital at Huercal Overa is also an option

For all of the above some Spanish is likely to be required, try a bit even if it's only Google translate translate.  Then at least they will try and help.  The other option is take a Spanish speaker to interpret.

The other option is the private medical facility by the bullring.  They speak English.  Or there's a new one near Consum Vera playa although I don't know what the specialise in.  That's also English speaking.  These you will need to bear the full cost of.

Hope you get sorted K
