Hello everyone!!

We have just bought an apartment in the Las Marinas area and are looking foward to staying in the area when the weather where we currently live, up on the Altiplano of Granada, is not to our liking.

I am looking for someone who can service or repair the a/c unit and ceiling fans in our apartment.

Caveat emptor check everything before final signing .This may not change the price but you could possibly have something repaired before you move in. Luckly enough after the final sale was completed  I mentioned this to the real estate agent handling the sale. They contacted the seller, lo and behold they (seller) said they would pay for the repair.

As I have limited Spanish, if possilbe a tech that  who at least can speak spanglish.

Sí, sé que necesito hablar español, aquí estoy aprendiendo. Hablo un poco de español but not enough to deal in person with someone who has no English at all. (Hangs head in shame becuse a good number of Spanish people I have tried to talk to apoligise for not spekaing English and it me,not them who should be sorry)

I am also wondering does anyone use a portable a/c unit? are you happy with the way they work - any opinions?

There is a/c unit is in the living room and I am thinking of using a portable one in one of the bedrooms.I do not think that the unit in the living room will cool the whole apartment. We will not be there full time, so the expence of installing a unit in the the bedroom is probally not worth it.

Thanks in advance

Rory

We had new ones fitted in our villa from Churros or Curros, not sure of the spelling, the big electro shop just up for the back of Mercadona in Albox and they were only around €400 each which I  thought was a good price with the fitting as well.

Hi Sandy thank you for the reply

Albox,  is a bit of a distance from here [the Google machine tells me 1.5 hour drive from here] I'm  not sure if they would come down here but I'll give them a try if I can't find distance local.
