Hi all. Just wanted to know if the banks and major supermarkets were open tomorrow 9th December as wasn’t sure if it was a holiday.

TIA

The second holiday, Día de la Inmaculada Concepción (Feast of the Immaculate Conception), traditionally falls on December 8, but this year, since it's on a Sunday, the bank holiday will be carried over to Monday, December 9.

Nope.  Monday is the holiday as Dia de la Inmaculada Concepcion fell on a Sunday - Supermarkets and banks all closed (except maybe Lidl)

Alicia, I’ve had to relegate your future advice as it was a personal opinion but not a fact.  I’m just imagining Jezroy standing in the Mojacar Cold Draught outside Unicaja, teeth chattering, hands in shallow pockets and pimples rising and waiting for the grand Bank Holiday opening which isn’t  going to occur. Jezroy says to himself “Perhaps the bank doesn’t open for another half hour so I’ll wait.” Forty minutes later Jezroy is near frozen to death and he’s wondering how did he get to this point? So he nips up to Consum supermarket to get some fresh rolls only to find this outlet closed also.

Even though Alicia thought she was helping Jezroy, he now wants to throttle her as he’s just got pleurisy from waiting around in the cold. Worse again he’s just seen dog walkers exercising their dogs and not cleaning up the dog poo. Some Spaniards are passing and looking curiously at Jezroy and they are thinking “Does this Brit think he’s in Little Britain?”

. . . and all Jezroy wanted was a little truth and picked up pneumonia instead.

abject apologies to Jezroy for my mistake I wondered why the Bank was in darkness and the pharmacy closed but the Tabac shop was open for my Daily newspaper.  It wasn't that cold Matthew so no chance of Puemonia here more likely sunburn and heat stroke the way the weather is going here at the moment.

Anyway Happy Christmas to the Forum members and Feliz Navidad to all our Spanish friends and neighbours.  Snow up north but not down here they are still swimming in the sea.
