Does anyone know if there’s any leeway on getting an MOT done in the UK due to the current travel restrictions and getting back there?

I would doubt it but try the DVLA site, they may be able to help

I would speak to your Insurance Company to see what they say.
They will be the people who will look to get out of paying for any reason if the worst happpens!!!
