Hi I went to VeraVet with my dog Hattie, the vet was excellent, speaks English and extremely helpful.  Most of all cheap compared to UK.  Highly recommended

Yep, I’ll second Jan; we took our cat to VeraVet - excellent practice, good with the pets and yes, speaks very very good English.

Incredibly helpful, we are very thankful to have discovered him via this forum

Just further on the Vet issue, as this is a very very very old post I’ll add an update.

We don’t go to VeraVets anymore - the vet that was there has moved on and the care we received for a previous pet with Chronic Feline Kidney disease was … lacking.  They also were not very gentle with her at all and misdiagnosed an obstructed bowel which eventually proved fatal.  They also are not cheap, charging a fortune for various tests.

We started going to Ellen in Turre at CliniVet; Ellen is magnificent, caring and very compassionate.  She is also very reasonably priced, doesn’t charge extortionate amounts for tests and seems much more “in tune” with animals than VeraVet was. I would now recommend Ellen at CliniVet over VeraVets any day.

Thanks for your Informative posts as always, Dario. Can I just ask quickly please does Ellen speak English? We are over here currently with our dog and she needs to be treated for tapeworm before we take her back on the 27th. I am learning Spanish as will be living here in a few years, but at the moment it's limited to asking for drinks, and very basic conversation!

Yes - Ellen is Belgian I think and speaks fluent English, as does her receptionist

Thanks Dario. Ellen was great. Our dog is quite nervous, having had a bad experience at a vets previously. Ellen was very patient and caring, and made the experience much easier than it could have been.

Would highly recommend the practice. Oh, and 28 euro for a tapeworm, a check up, and documentation completed. It would have been 3x that back in UK.

All the best

Chris
