Any clever buffs out there who can advice me what can be wrong with my ceiling fan with lights attached which has just slowly stopped oscillating. The fuse is ok I think.! No crackling noise of any kind.Mind you it’s 11 years old but not used much only when we are here. Do I need the experts to have a look at it? If so any good recommendations would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks. S

It is my guess that after 11years the motor and bearings have become clogged with carp, If you are ok with simple DIY then take it down take it apart and give it a good clean with a small brush,if you can go to a garage and blow it all over with an airline that should do the trick(usual caveats about leccy/ladders etc).
As for a tradesman,it may be a better route to get a new 1(fan, not tradesman) and get that fitted
