Is Vera the right area for me ?

I’ll second that.  Live in Valle del Este and LOVE Vera.

You are a 50 minute drive from Almería airport, approx 1.5 hours from Murcia and about 2.15 from Alicante.

Hi,

You mention a dog. How will you be transporting from UK? This has proved a problem for many. Are you driving/ferry/ driving? Flying? Using pet transport.

Are you aware of restrictions on animals on public transport here in Spain?

The paucity of public transport.

Others have mentioned Vera but just so many resorts from beyond Alicante through Murcia on through us ( villaricos, vera playa, garrucha, mojacar playa, carbonares and along the coast to and through Almeria city. 

Rent, have transport and explore.

My wife came out on her own in 2002 but had already purchased a property & secured employment. We met out here.

We are looking in similar area , up to now it's  the best place in Spain we have ever been. Such a nice place to live . Just wished we had done it ten years ago and were early fifties lol 

Hi Susie, yes and agree the area is just lovely. I’m at Desert Springs very near to Vera. 

Great place to eat and meet. Another local fishing town called garrucha also good.
