Hi.

We live on a gated complex and wondered if the post is delivered or we need to fetch it from the post office, friends have said they have posted items to our address, but we haven't received anything.  We now have our mail and parcels delivered forget me not.

I think it's probably better to have a box at the local post office if you have a gated entrance and no caretaker. My old place had a caretaker but even so on numerous occasions parcelsfrom say Amazon would fail to be delivered as the delivery company such as Seur/DHL said there was nobody about or they couldnt find the place even though it was a 36 apartment complex on a substantial sized road.Bit of a pain going to the post office but it's probably better that way.I don't find the correos very reliable anyway,I have sent letters to Madrid and they haven't been received by the recipient and vice versa...

Please excuse the daft question but ... are you certain there aren’t a bank of letter boxes for your complex?

I also live in a gated complex; we have two gates and by the “top” gate we have a bank of letter boxes for the complex.

Other gated complexes in the area I’m in (Valle del Este) have banks of letter boxes close to them, if not actually against the gate.

I’ve had SOME issues with SEUR, but I have found Correos very very reliable, no issues at all receiving or sending.

There was letter boxes inside the complex but not used by anyone and you could only access them  anyway by getting into the complex in the first place and that was a locked gate.So the post lady had to put them in a box strapped to the outside fence and the only one who had a key for that was the caretaker who was rarely about. When he went on holiday for two weeks we had no post at all..,Alternative was to press the intercom button outside, unfortunately in the three and a half years I lived there it never worked. So the likes of Seur or DHL if they eventually found our complex would push the button,no response obviously and would take the parcels away.I got fed up trying to persuade the communidad administrators to repair the intercom or at least put a notice on it to say it wasn't working but nothing ever got done.Very frustrating but not my problem anymore as I  have moved out to my house here now with my own personal post box.As for the correos I have had plenty of things go astray both incoming and outgoing....🙁
