Hi all

Visiting Vera next week and really looking forward to it

However I have read some recent reviews and some say the beach is in a terrible condition

Can someone either confirm or deny this

Hopefully just a disgruntled visitor

Haven’t visited for a few years and do not want to be disappointed

Many thanks

K

If you have a car go to San Juan.  It has beautiful sandy beaches there.

We were in VP at the end of May and start of June. The beach north of the parking at the end of Avenida Ciudad de Castellon is much narrow then it was. Luis at Cota Zero hasn't put up his sunshades; he's running out of room as the chiringuito has to move further back. Alex has had to move her shades and sunbeds to just south of the Hotel, again due to a lack of width.

The beach is still there and from opposite the Chiringuito Naturista is wide enough, certainly at that time of the year.

It cannot be denied that there is a crying need for at least one more breakwater to try to stop this southward onshore drift.

Thanks for the reply

As long as it’s sunny and space to relax for us I’m sure will enjoy our time on the beach

No. It is a textile beach.

Sad news to hear, the bit between Natsun and Chringuito Naturista has always been my favourite :(

In previous years the bit just after the breakwater by the hotel has had about 1/20th of the amount of people on it even though it stretches out further and has beautiful sand. Just don't go out of the zone and get fined.

I live in Vera Playa, towards the Villaricos / Palomares end of the naturista (but still in the naturista area), about 1 minutes walk from the beach.

The beach suffered badly this winter past, as did another 19 km of coastline, but the ayuntamiento reacted quickly and bought in several tons of sand to fill and even out the beach.  There’s plenty of space to sunbathe, but if your coming in July, bring earplugs as Dream Beach has been moved forward from its normal August slot to second week in July, so 5 days of non-stop super-loud noise and streets full of drunken or (and) stoned youth

aahhhhh the joys!

I thought the whole beach was naturist

Are there signs to show when and where the naturist area stops and starts

I think historically the naturist area was a lot longer than it is now, if you can find a copy of the old Vera Playa Friends Map it now seems to be after El Chumbo north of the hotel and after Pizzeria Pomdoro to the south.

I also haven't visited for a few years and will be there early July, so fingers crossed for the best!
