Hi

Does anyone know if property on the Valle Del Este Golf Resort in Vera is legal as we are hearing conflicting stories?

Whats the immediate area like here?

We have been to Vera and Vera Playa so we know the area.

Thanks

Michelle

We’re living on the Valle del Este resort.  Not sure who’s told you it’s not legal, as they are quite mistaken.  The various urbanizaciónes around the resort are built to a high standard and have certificates of energy compliance and habitación.  The surrounding area is very lush and green, with the grounds beautifully maintained.  It is a veritable spot of paradise.  A picture speaks a thousand words, so I’ll put up a picture, taken from our residence.

That’s reassuring Dario. Someone told us to be careful as the properties are a lot cheaper than anywhere else it seems. They also told us that the shopping centre hasn’t been completed yet. We are coming over to Spain in May to search for a property so we’ll check out the area.

If you have any tips that would be useful to us we would really appreciate it

HI Michelle .... cheaper? I don’t blooming well think so!!

The “shopping centre” may not be complete - but as it consists of two restaurants and a cafe, I’m not sure how much more complete it is going to get :-)

I must admit I’ve only just had a very quick look at the shopping centre; as Vera is only 5km away, if we need anything we tend to just hop in the car and drive 10 minutes into Vera.

We are in the Los Almendros Urbanización which has a very large swimming pool (hidden behind the deck in the background of the photo) and it is incredibly peaceful and quiet.  The resort is only a stones throw from the E15 motorway but there is no traffic noise at all - none.  We can see the Mediterranean from our lounge - 6km distant, yes, but we can see it. I know it is the off-season and may get somewhat noisier in July, but it’ll be worth it for the peace and quiet the rest of the year after holiday season.

Valle del Este us ideally positioned I’d say, as it falls equal distance from both Vera and Garrucha (ok - Garrucha is about 7km away) but you are still within a short distance of either centre.

We’ll be here in May - will happily meet you if you like and show you what we have discovered - although as you know Vera / Vera Playa we’d not be showing you much you didn’t already know :-) but still, if you like we’ll share our experiences of living in this little slice of paradise.

It seems a lot cheaper than Vera playa but I’m guessing that’s because you are further away from the beach - right?

We’d like to meet up with anyone who can offer any extra help and advice about the areas and buying property.

Thank you!

WOW! Cheaper than Vera Paya? Well yes, we are marginally further from the beach - but that makes getting a place here a real bargain then.

Yes, Garrucha is 15 minutes drive, Vera Playa about 10 I’d say..... Vera, 7 - 10 minutes - and that’s only because we have a Peugeot 407 and negotiating the narrow streets of Vera slows you down a bit :-)

I have to say, I love it here.  To wake up every morning and look at the well maintained greenery and scenic layout and see the rising sun glinting off the Mediterranean really is quite special.

Do you speak Spanish at all Michelle?

WE’re doing Spanish lessons at the moment.  Free - organized or at least sponsored by Vera town council for residents.  We go twice a week to the Centro Educación Permanente Barrea

There will doubtless be much debate on this forum as to whether learning Spanish is necessary .... I believe here in Vera, yes, it is.  All the officialdom we’ve dealt with thus far speak either no, or only one or two words, of English - SEUR Couriers, Correos, Iberdrola etc etc etc.

What I can at least do is recommend a REALLY good and helpful Estate Agency here in Vera - AM3 - and a very good internet provider who is English speaking.
