We have woken up to a flat tyre that has one completely seized up lug nut, does anyone know of a local mechanic with maybe a bit of English that would do a call out and hopefully help us get the stupid thing off?? Or any other tricks we can try apart from leverage or a hammer. Any help appreciated. TIA

Anna

Hi,

Why not ring your Spanish Insurance Company & they will send a Grua We did with Linea Directa.

Or, if you have a blow torch which will cause expansion.

Hope you get it sorted,

Bob and Sandra

Our car insurance covers call out service for exactly that. We have used it so I know for sure.

Ring the insurance company, they will send either a grua or a man with a van. We were caught in las Buganvilas and the chap came.  Swapped the wheel for the spare and then told us to go to our local garage to have it repaired.  We were on the road in no time at all.  You'll probably have to wait until Monday for the garage but these things always happen either at weekend or on a bank holiday.  But your spare should suffice until then.  Good luck.   The word for puncture is 'pinchado' and most insurance companies have someone who speaks English.

the old way to do it is to pour kettle or kettles of boiling water on it. Dr. bob is right with blowtorch, but you may not have one and, besides fire has potential consequences, I know , by trade I am a welder hope this helps   Bob and Margaret
