Has anyone else found this year’s non-resident tax has increased massively?  We are in the Vera Playa area and our tax has increased from just over €300 to just over €800, around about €500 increase!  We have queried this with our tax advisor and told it is correct.

Ours also went up. The tax, last year was about €44 each. This year its almost €100 each. So a bit more than doubled. Yours sounds about the same percentage.

Yes, an unexpected ouch.

Martin.

Increase should only be 5% unless you have been reassesed since purchase.

Thank you for your response, our property is only 2 years old so it is surprising if it has been reassesed, I was just interested to see if anyone else had had such a big increase.  Anyway, it has been paid now so I guess there is not much we can do.

Thank you, it seems as if you have had a surprise too.

Non residents tax for UK Residents went up from 18% to 24% following Brexit / end of grace period … I would have thought that would have hit before now though.

That shouldn’t increase your tax that much

Maybe the gestor has made a mistake I usually do mine myself but it’s a bit tricky as you don’t get the rates demand with the valor castral on it anymore All goes through the bank

Is there a simple way of finding the up to date valor castral?
