Any advice on which bank to open an account with, and which is the best account they provide

Also with possibly a little understanding of English Until  we pick it up

Many Thanks

Hi Brian

I have banked with Sabadell in Barcelona and, lately, here in Vera for 12 years and been very happy with their service. I do not pay any monthly charges but owe do have a reasonable level of monthly income deposited in the account.

The branch in Vera Pueblo has English speakers, the online app and ATMs can also be configured in English.

The only irritation is that the in branch service seems to be slow compared to UK banks. However, my partner has an account with Santander and they're even slower - I think it's just a function of all Spanish banks.

I would happily recommend.

Ian

We use the Cajamar Wefferent account. Easy to access online and no monthly charges. Most branches have someone who speaks some English too

Hello there. Avoid la Caixa whatever you do.  Used them in Costa Blanca. Didn’t think it could get much worse until we now use Huércal Overa.  Must admit, Albox is a lot better .....

We have a joint account, a debit card only and don’t have a regular income going in every month.
