Hi I am currently here with my dog for the first time. I need to get a vet to see her before we return home.  Can anyone recommend a good vet in the area please.

The vet in Garrucha is great.  We take our dogs for their tablet every year. He and the staff speak English.  He is located at the beginning of Garrucha on the walk way which begins at the Boccerie ?spelling. By the roundabout. One of our dogs had an abscess and they were fantastic.

No,  coming into Garrucha from Mojácar the roundabout that takes you onto the beach walkway. Once on the walkway park up the vets is just there, if your facing Vera it’s on your left. I think it’s the first business.

Clinical Veterinarian de Garrucha

Paseo de Malacon 204

04630  Garrucha

Look on google for the phone no.

Can you help me understand what my dog needs before we return to the UK.  You mentioned a tablet, is this for tapeworm?  I assume they log the medication in her passport?.

Grateful for any help you can give me.

Thanks

Alison

Hi Alison,  Your dog will be given a health check and a worming tablet.  This will be registered on his passport and he must return to the uk within 5 days of having the tablet.

We usually make an appointment for the morning of the day we leave, see the vet, put the dogs in the car and start our journey, it takes us 4 days to get home so, plenty of time.

We return via Dieppe, if you travel via Santander it is quicker.

When are you returning? We are now in Garrucha until mid Nov.

Yours Ruth

We are going back next Thursday.  We have an appointment on the Wednesday evening.  I am going over via the tunnel and booked that for Saturday evening so plenty of time.  I want to try the Santader crossing and get a pet friendly cabin.  There were none when i tried to book and i didnt want to leave her in a strange place (pampered pooch), so decided to use the tunnel.

Thanks for your help,

Alison

No worries, have a good journey. That’s a lot of driving, we normally do it over 4 days.

Hope to meet up one day.

Ruth
