Hi all,

Visiting Vera Playa at the end of September to have a look at properties. I'd like to know if there are any particular bars that expat residents tend to visit in the area. It'd be nice to meet and chat to those that live there. If anybody has any suggestions for places to view properties please let us know. We're not looking for isolation, but to mix with those already settled there.

                                                                                 Many Thanks,

                                                                                                       Paul

Hi Paul

We have an apartment in Vera Playa we go to Spain every 6 weeks and find Vera Playa to be a great place for us and would love to do what you are doing. Our apartment is on a lovely big complex Peublo Salinas which is gated and security cameras and a bar and restaraunt etc and absolutely ideal for us. It's only a 20min walk to the beach which we love walking to early evening and going to sunbath  around 5pm after a cycle ride to Garrucha or Villaricos which are not too far. Mojacar is a bit further but we still go there a lot as well. We are not sure on the bars for expats but I am sure they will be one or two that someone can help you with.

We go to the Vera Plaza the local bars and find them to be ideal for us.

Good luck with your move !

Enjoy !!!

Tracey

Most of the bars on hotel street (can't remember it's real name, but the road that leads down to the Vera Playa Hotel), are full of English people, both holiday makers and expats. Frankies, Bar La Reva, the Blue Parrot and more.

Vera playa stretches quite a long way towards Garrucha.  A good meeting place is Victor's bar in las Buganvilas where there are British shops, hairdressers, paper shop, etc etc do don't just go down the far end.  Have a good look around.  Buganvilas also had a plethora of estate agents. Good luck with your search.

Hi Paul

We own an apartment in Paraíso de Vera, Vera Playa where we lived for almost 4 years, we now rent the apartment out for holiday rental as we have moved inland.

There are many bars and restaurants in the area around Avenida Ciudad de Barcelona (Hotel Street) Frankies, Bar La Reva, Four Seasons, KOA, Seventeen, The Blue Parrot, Broadway, Benito’s, Buena Mesa, Pizza Garden and Concha’s - all are friendly and great places to meet a mixture of people.

The area around Vera Plaza has a range of restaurants and bars, shops too!

A bit further away is Armony Beach, then Marau Beach Club before you get to the area of Pueblo Laguna.

Please let me know if you have any questions or if you need somewhere to stay.

Kind regards

Sarah

We bought in Residencial las Marinas opposite the Playa  las Marinas Bolaga beach with Millionaires bar, Bistro, Brasserie and Laguna restaurants on our doorstep.  Also Dees dollar bar round the corner plus the Bulongvillas bars and restaurants in 10 minutes walking distance.  It really all what you want at the end of the day but I love having the Millionaires bar with all the football TV  so local.

I don't understand what you mean about not going down the far end?  Where is the far end and what's wrong with it?  Just being nosey 🤔

Thanks everyone for your replies. I look forward to my time in Vera Playa. Doing research can sometimes be overwhelming. We've travelled up and down the coast trying to find the right place for us. We want to be able to mix with others and experience has shown us that expats like to meet in bars. There is very little negative feedback on these forums from people who have made the move. So our research continues. Many thanks for taking the time to reply. Paul
