Into Almeria through the winter you won't be able to do it from Birmingham or East Midlands and for direct flights are limited to Easyjet from Gatwick. From both airports you can fly with Ryanair to Murcia, or from Bristol or Gatwick to Murcia with Easyjet, as these flights continue through the winter. It's then an hour and a quarter drive if you use the empty toll road.

There are of course direct flights from Birmingham and East Midlands on Ryanair and Jet2 into Alicante through the winter but it's then a 2 and a half hour drive.

We now tend to use the Gatwick-Murcia Easyjet route in winter.

Hi..

Almeria is our nearest airport (Bedar) but we have found that we have found that we have to use the Bristol - Murcia route with Easy Jet who operate a service throughout the year.

We've bought a car which is parked at Murcia airport with Plane Parking and use the toll road which takes us only 90 min  (a pleasure to drive compared to UK roads & must say it all works like clockwork).  Vera even closer so it might be worth looking into using Murcia airport.

I understand Jet 2 are starting east midlands / birmingham - almeria route but only in the summer months.

Hi

During the summer we have always flown into Almeria airport from either Birmingham or Manchester. We went out to Vera Playa on the 30th Nov 2017 and flew East Mids to Murcia with Ryaniar. We were worried after always flying with Monarch what would Ryanair be like. Well, we took off on time landed 10 minutes early and then drove to Vera Playa. We have booked with them for our next flight.(Check your hire car has the roads set to toll roads and main roads). Drove along the AP7, first time having driven abroad and it was fine.

Regards

Keith and Peter

Hi

No problem, we all have to help each other.  As for living there that is what we are doing once our UK home is sold as we have bought a house in VP and are so excited.
