Hi All

Has anyone any information regarding Coronavirus testing in the Vera area. Whether at the local Salud or in the private sector?

We are permanent residents here but haven't heard any news regarding this and cannot find any information anywhere.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

When they did the testing here in Sorbas, the town hall  announced it on their Facebook page.  We were told that 300 or so people on the padrón, picked at random, would receive SMS messages a couple of days before the day of the testing.  These people were asked to attend with ID and given ydetails of where, what time etc.

I suppose its the same in Vera.  As people don't always turn up  they might test others in their place (although in Sorbas they didn't) but you would need to show that you're on the padrón or registered at the local health centre I would think.

Hi again Chris

, just to clarify, I was under the impression that you were enquiring about the group random testing which is being carried out in various towns and villages by the Junta de Andalucia.  If you were wanting a specific date for a test before taking a flight etc. that would be a different matter entirely.

By the way, just heard a few hours ago that now France wants tests from people travelling by road - not transportists, but private individuals!

Note however that France require a PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test. ..This is generally analysed by a laboratory. Pharmacies seem to be offering LFT's( lateral flow test) this can be done by an untrained person and is much the same as a home pregnancy test to look at. It is cheaper and much faster ..30 mins to result...but is not what France are specifying..do check the type of test before you have it.
