Andres Valero Pinturas are, I think, in the square behind Spanish Property Choice by the Parque Comercial roundabout on Mojacar Playa. They certainly have a better reputation for paint quality than Lopez - BobL thought Lopez' paint was like painting with custard :)

Congratulations 🍾🎉🎉 we are so envious! Hope to do the same around October. We dream of meeting you all when the time comes.
Do you mind me asking where you have bought, which agent and lawyer you used and how it all went?
Congrats again

I'm sure Kieran & Kim will reply with their experiences, and of course that's all anyone can do. Even with the same lawyer and particularly the same estate agent you are bound to get some differing opinions. There's one agent that we wouldn't now touch with a barge pole but many others have had a great experience. Go with your instinct: if you don't feel comfortable with the estate agent walk away, there are plenty of others. Same with the lawyer.
We have bought twice in the last 2 years in the area, once in Los Gallardos and then a few months ago in Palomares. On both occasions our estate agent was Paul Fullard at Next Stop Almeria - https://www.nextstopalmeria.com/find-property - who was excellent and very professional throughout the purchases, and they also have first class after sales care and recommended great local tradesmen, took me around to the major shops etc and do a monthly inspection of the property. Highly recommended.
Paul works with and recommended Currencies Direct for foreign exchange transfers. They have an office on Mojacar Playa so met them and have since done everything online and it's worked well ever since and we get a good rate of exchange compared to the banks.
My next comment sometimes raises eyebrows because Paul also recommended Maria Maroto at Mundi Abogados to be our lawyer - http://www.mundiabogados.com/ - whereas I was heading hell for leather for some "independent" lawyer that I'd plucked out of the ether. I'm so glad I didn't do it that way. There aren't generally the old incestuous builder/estate agent/lawyer relationships that there were 12-15 years ago and Maria and her team were thoroughly professional, explained everything in English, arranged NIE numbers and bank account, got utilities connected and transferred into our names, accompanied us to the notary when necessary and have subsequently dealt with a rental license for the Palomares property and our Spanish wills. The number of thank you cards in their window at the Las Buganvillas roundabout between Garrucha and Vera is testament to many happy clients.
One aspect to perhaps be aware of is that if you are buying with a Spanish mortgage or are buying a reposession the process seems to work at the speed of the bank which might be slower than you would like. For both our properties we weren't in that position so the purchases were far more smooth, quick and stress-free than we ever imagined when we started this.
So that's our experience, others might give you the same sort of experience but with completely different companies. Hopefully the responses you get will give you a starting point in your own search. Best of luck.
