We are just about to purchase a property in Sierra Cabrera our long life dream !! and after 30 years we have finally decided where we want to be. Please could someone tell us of the equivalant B & Q over here locally as we are looking to do some refurbishment and would like to visit some DIY stores before we return to the UK end of Nov.

There's a very good store, Maderas Viudez, just off the A7 at the Cuevas junction just past the petrol station as you leave Antas towards Huercal Overa. Or just 5 minutes from there is Lopez on the roundabout on the El Real Industrial Estate in Antas as you come off at 534B on the A7 which is perhaps the more usual choice: good stock and most things you'll need but shocking customer service and don't even think of taking anything back - life is just too short for that sort of hassle

Or, you could go to the B&Q in Roquetta de mar! it's owned by the Kingfisher group who are B&Q's parent Co - it's called Brico Mart and it's all very similar/ familar to those in the UK and they have some English speaking staff - delivery is a bit steep at around 120 Euros to hereabouts but then most places are here in Spain
