Please could anyone tell me if their water supply has also been off since around 4pm today? We have just moved into our villa today and had water for a short while but none since!

Is there an on-going problem in this area with water being turned off that we not made aware of?

Any advice would be great as we don't know when to expect the water to be turned back on again.

Many thanks all!

Veronica

Hi.  Hopefully you have water services back by now but for the past few weeks the water has been disrupted by being off a lot.  Apparently the water company Gallasa has been doing some alterations to the supply which has caused this.  We also live on Agua Nueva and a lot of the villas on this part of Turre have 'emergency' water pumps for when the water is turned off.  If you don't have this pump get in touch with the agents you bought the villa from as they should be aware of it.  You  really need one as the water is turned off without notice fairly frequently but mostly just for a short period of time.  Best wishes.

Thank you for your message, and we do have the water back on now thanks. It was off for hours the day we moved in and again the following day for a few hours but all is ok again thank goodness!

Not great when this happens as life seems to stop in the villa!

We were not made aware of the need for a pump but have made contact with a plumber who hopefully will sort things out for us in due course.

We doubt if the agent who sold us the villa will be sympathetic now that they have made their sale.

Best regards & thanks

Hi Richard

Turre does have occasional problems with the water supply. We are up on Agua Nueva and have had lots of problems recently with water.  However this seems to have been resolved and we have water both last night and today (so far).  If you own your property I would contact the Town Hall in Turre to see if they know of anything.  If the property is rented then contact the rental agency.  Hopefully you get sorted soon.  Up here on Agua Nueva most properties have an emergency pump supply system for such occurences and can switch over to that.  Could be an idea to put in same on your property if it doesn't already have one.

Hi Richard

I hope that by this time they have water supply!

If not, and if we can help in any way please let me know, particularly if they are on their own and need further help as we live on Agua Nueva too.

Moira is correct that a water backup tank is normal for here together with a pump which switches on when there is no water supply. We had awful problems too and have found this is the only solution.

Let them know they also need to buy bottles of water for drinking from the supermarket- tap water is undrinkable!

Best regards

Veronica

Thanks both for your quick response and offers of assistance, still no water as I type it sounds like an admin issue between the local town hall who the water account was set up with and paid to and possibly the supply/account being handed over to the water company. We have received no notice of course; anyway my agents and solicitors are on to it this morning so hopefully it will be sorted

Thanks

Richard

Hi Richard

Sorry to hear the problem still exists - what a nightmare!

This upholds the fact that we all MUST have a back up water tank installed together with a pump. We suffered in the past until we had the latter installed by an independant plumber.

There is an ongoing water problem here and seemingly more frequently of late!

Most of us here are aware there could be problems and I am surprised if you did not have this information from the agent.

Have you read about the Galasa water company and their problems?

I hope this does get sorted quickly for your holiday makers!

Best regards

Veronica

We had the same thing, living in the middle of nowhere in the Cantoria area. This went on for a few days while the water company revamped its pipe routing.  Luckily, there was a Lidl reasonably nearby where we could buy loads of 8-litre bottles for 75c each! Looking back it was fun....

Hi Ricardo

Without a backup water tank etc it is not fun when holiday makers come here and find there is no water at all!

Best regards

Veronica
