Granada hospital. Journey time and best route ?
Hi,
Any thoughts on how long a drive it is , by car, to get to the Hospital in Granada from Turre ?
Many thanks for your suggestions.

Hi there
It's a really good journey from where you are in that you can go via Sorbas and Tabernas, past the wild west theme parks and on to the A92. I have done that journey several times and have allowed 3 hours from Cuevas del Almanzora. You are nearer but allow time for a break too. It's a much more interesting drive than taking the A92 all the way. Depending on the time of your appointment we go the day before and stay in a hotel near to my hospital. There are several hospitals in Granada.
Hope this helps you. Marion
Hi Marion,
Thanks for your reply, it is most helpful.
Can you recommend or suggest a hotel that has parking and close to the hospital ?
Kind regards
mike

Hello Mike
We stay at the B&B Estacion Hotel, which is in Avenida de Juan Pablo, the same avenue as the traumotolgy hospital and the plastic surgery hospital. It's around 50 euros and parking is 9 euros. Good, clean, quiet and comfortable hotel and walking distance to the above hospitals.
MacDonalds next door, Pizza Hut over the road. There are many other hospitals, but all of them are no more than a few minutes' drive from the B&B.
We are staying there Monday night. Do private message me for more information. Happy to help. Marion

Hi, I have been going to Granada hospital for a few appointments and I live in Los Menas which is just off junction 547 on the A7 which is the A334 Albox/Baza road. It takes me exactly 2 hours going via Baza then onto the A92N then onto the A92. I come off at junction 250 then use my sat nav to get me to the hospital as it is a bit hard to find then I park in La Caleta car park which is underground and the entry is in the middle of the road next to the tram tracks. This is just in front of the hospital and if the first level is full there is a lower floor which usually has spaces.
Good luck with your visit whatever it is for. If you need a translator, PM me and I will give you my guys number.
Best wishes,
Paul.

My mother was in Universitario Virgin de las Nieves. I stayed at Princess Ana which is right across the road. They have parking payable direct to hotel. However, if you are there long term then cheaper to buy a weekly ticket for €40 at La Caleta car park which is under the hospital. After entering the car park take your ticket to the desk and you can pay by card and have it changed for long term... it acts for 7 days from the time you enter.
As mum was in for 3 weeks, I found an Airbnb near Albolote I could park for free and got the metro (tram) to La Caleta (stop in front of hospital). The fare is €1.40 each way or buy a card at a taboconist or at The hospital shop for €7 (€2 card €5 travel) which then reduces the journey to .87c each way. If you do more than 4 journeys, then it pays. The card can also be used on the buses. The tram journey takes 20-25mins. You can top the card up at hospital or metro stop.
Thank you for the info, most helpful.
I meant to say 'THANK YOU ALL' for your really helpful suggestions and information.
We have just arrived back home after a very nice drive to the hospital and stayed in the nearby hotel Elena Maria. Basic but very clean and tidy and just a few minutes to walk across the road into the hospital. Nearby restaurants and bars offering good value.
Kind regards to all

Hi Mike
Glad all went well for you. Which hospital did you attend, please?
Many thanks.
Marion
Virgin de la Nieve. The hospital has two main entrances, we accessed from the Avda Constitucion..
regards.
