rubbish collections
Any one tell me the dates for leaving larger items at the bins in Turre please
HI,
Believe it's 1st & 15th. Maybe check with the Town Hall?
Sorry can't be more specific. At our Basura in Mojacar people leave any day of the month & if the Dumpster Divers don't take then the Council does take away.
Best wishes,
Bob and Sandra

The Ley law introduced nationwide by the Spanish Government nearly two years ago as an attempt to reduce/stop illegal dumping is any household produce including furniture, white good etc to be left out by the side of the grey bins on the eve of the 6th & 20th of each month.
The refuse collectors on this night will report items for collection to their depot.
Suitable transport will then be arranged, usually an open backed lorry, to come and remove, usually within a day or two.
It was added that any dumping on other nights would still attract the same level of fines if reported and the size of fines can be excessive.
All the newspapers reported this change at the time. If memory serves me correctly 2017?
A simple inquiry to any of their websites will confirm this information and the Ley number or alternatively inquire at any Townhall if you have doubts.
In my travels I am surprised how few know of this new law. I thought the English newspapers had good coverage. Just goes to show.
I had critics the last time I gave out the information on this new Ley Law by people that did not know about this new Ley Law.
They said large items could be left anytime without attracting a fine if caught or reported. This is simply not true.
This is why I ask people now to carry out their own checks at EWN or their local Town hall.
Certainly one needs to be very careful.
Anyway hope you find this useful.
Hi Matey,
Is that the evening of.the 6th & 20th or the evening before????
Hope all well with you,

Hi Sir, yes.
Leave large household items by the side of a grey bin on the evening of the 6th and 20th of any month.
The refuse "survey" will be done either that night or by the eve of the following day.
That is "household items"_ like sofas, bed frames, mattresses, fridge's, freezers, chairs, tables, rolled carpet, palletts etc.
Outside this time in Spanish Ley Law it will be classed as "Illegal Dumping" and one can be fined, sometimes quite heavily, if caught or reported by council workers or neighbours.
To dispose of waste other than the system explained then one should contact their Townhall or visit their local waste tip.
In any event your local Townhall should verify this new law if anyone has any doubts or the Townhall should confirm any local variation.
The instigation of this new law allowed a "run in period" of two years from inception and the new law is designed to help eliminate illegal dumping that has been prevalent on urbanizations and adjoining waste ground.
All in all a really good system that eventually when it becomes common knowledge (its Spain afterall) should help to reduce the dangers, health hazards and costs to us all associated from illegal dumping.
Hope this clarifies.
Regards Al
