Hi I'm sorry if this is in the wrong topic.

We will be arriving in Turre at the end of July we are renting an apartment for 6 months and I was wondering if you can tell me average costings per month on bills electricity, waste, water ect.

The company we are renting from will be holding a €400 bond for utility bills for the last month when we leave is this what we should be looking at paying monthly

Kind Regards

Tania

Hi,

Well with water & electric it's ' how long is a piece of string?'

Water- usage/ showers/ cooking/ laundry, any watering, etc. We are with Galasa and average about 30€ every 2 month period when family visit.

Electric- the biggie will be the AC. We have Ceiling fans as well. Actually when the parasites are there it's never more than 100€'/month & the water heating & washing machine account for part of that.

Rubbish Bins-Mojacar, 35€/ qtr

Are you also paying part.of IBI?

Hope that helps,

Bob and Sandra

The two of us use about €20 a month for water; about €70-90 a month for electric depending on time of year. Fridge-freezers account for around 25% of all the electric used.

Hi thank you for your reply, I don't think we get to choose the suppliers as it's with a letting agent and they said they will forward the bills to us so I guess this must all be set up. Is the IBI the equivalent to council tax in the UK if so they said we would not be liable to pay that.

So even when you family and friends visit it's still alot less then the bond they are holding I hope this is just added security and not the costs of the bills per month they expect as this is much higher than what the two replies state

Thank you very much once again.

Regards

Tania

Hi,

Yes, IBI is the Property Tax & excellent that isn't your responsibility as well.

Might be worth asking what the tariff is on the electric. If certain hours are free or at lower rate.

Have a great holiday.

You will probably average 100 Euro per month electricity if you use AC in July + Aug... it's expensive compared to UK. Water is cheap. Electric bills should be emailed to you maybe every 6 weeks and you pay them directly. The 400 Euro bond is for the agent to pay any outstanding bills that come in after you leave, and they pay you back what is left over.

Worth asking if you are on a split tarif with cheap rate at certain times or you could find yourself spending a lot more than necessary. - not all companies have exactly the same deals.  If you are not on a split tarif then maybe enquire if they would mind changing it as you can definitely save money. If they are even willing to change suppliers then I would recommend they go to Fenie Energie .. excellent prices and superb level of service -- knocks Endesa into a cocked hat!

Thank you for the response. So I suppose the €400 is more of a security to make sure they are paid rather then an estimate of what they will be thank you for all the responses. We havnt got long to find out now as we arrive in 6 weeks. I will be sure to ask them about the split tariff once we arrive if the bills are very costly

Kind Regards
