If you get private pension and state pension and you take your money from UK to Spain and become a Spanish citizen
Will the UK still tax you on your earning
Or what is the Spanish tax laws
Any advice please
Tax in Spain if Resident full time, go to Sorria Bonillia Mojacar, excellent taxes done each year, very reasonable.
Hi. You can´t become a Spanish citizen but you can get Residencia. You will need a gestor to do this. You can shop around if you wish. Spain has a reciprocal agreement with the UK for double taxation. This means if you are here in Spain full time and a resident then you will by default become taxable here. You need to ask for the Convenio from the UK tax office to fill in the appropriate forms etc. If you use a Gestor then ask them the same questions. The main difference is that in the UK the tax year is Apr to Apr; in Spain it is Jan to Dec. It is very complicated and can, although not always, take quite a bit of time. If you don´t speak fluent Spanish then please use a reliable gestor as it is worth it. You don´t have to send your pensions over here and can still use an English bank account for these to be paid into. Hope this helps and welcome to Turre!
best wishes

p.s. I noticed you had asked a question re rental properties in Turre. I did see the reply but couldn´t add my reply as I am not part of the appropriate section. If you call into "Linnitts" on the main street opposite Solare bar/restaurant then they deal with Turre rentals. They are very friendly and will be pleased to try to accommodate you. Cheaper than what you have been suggested too! (Moira A)
Could you list from 1 to 10 the procedures you have to go through in order please
So I no what to do first
Hi. I am not fully up to speed with the Spanish tax laws but your best bet is to
1. book an appointment with a gestor and tell them everything. Most will give you your first consultation free in any event.
2. Call into see Janet or Clara at Linnitts (Mon to Fri 10am to 2pm is best if not a fiesta or holiday day).
3. Call across the road to either the Solare or to Zambra (Solare is posher but Zambra always make you feel welcome too.
4. Relax and wait for your appointment with your gestor. There will be other factors to consider depending on your lifestyle but a gestor can answer these questions for you.
5. If you don´t already speak Spanish then try to learn, the local people will oblige and will probably say they are trying to learn English - don´t be afraid.
Hope the above is ok for you and again Welcome!
