Hello everyone, I am looking a property to buy and I found some in Tabernas. I have already been living in Spain since May this year. My question is:

1. Do you like living in Tabernas? What do you like the most?

2. Is there safe? I mean is it more Spanish/English village or other nations are in major? Is there problem with "ocupas"?

3. Are there any secondary schools? Would you mind recommending one?

Thank you so much for any reply 🙏

Muchas Gracias, Dominika

Carola

Tabernas is a very quiet town and very safe, we only come there once or twice a year for a few weeks at the time. We are retired so we do not know much about schools. There is a school complex though but I do not know till which age the students go there. There is an open air swimming pool, open during the summer months. There is a big sports complex, which would be interesting for your teenagers. Regarding squatters, I have heard of a few cases. Mainly during Holy Week, the biggest festival of the year in Tabernas, when many of the original gypsy families come to town.   There are a few small supermarkets, bakeries, hardware store, general store, a china store, a shoe store and a medical centre(ambulance available), and some English is spoken there. Hope this was helpful, good luck.
