We are hoping to buy a property in Tijola so we’re wondering if anyone has any info on the schools in this area or Séron for our 7 year old son. We are going to go to the schools obviously but just hoping someone on here could have some practical info 🙏🙏

hi we could be of help ,we live in tijola and my wife went through the spanish education system and is fluent spanish(which is important here as not many of the locals speak any english). also any building requirements you might need,we could help also.

one thing you have to bear in mind is that you cant just turn up and put your kid in school you have to apply for a place and the application process is for a limited time (approx now till sept)

hope this helps

Hi can you supply more information on schools please.

Where is the nearest one here? Will we have to travel far?

We are all taking Spanish language lessons so it would be of help to converse at some stage with Spanish speakers. My wife is Ukrainian so only speaks enough English to tell me off ha haas does her daughter. The daughter is 14

We are looking for a new life in a typical Spanish town/ village where we can

contribute to the culture etc

Thanks but we have been living here since 2018 so all sorted now 😂😂 and weekend did actually just turn up but thankfully they helped us perfectly. He has been in school here now since April 2018 and is now fluent and doing so well at school which is amazing.

Thanks for your time though.

Hello 👋 we have lived here since 2018 and our son was 7 when we came he has now settled into the local school in Tíjola which is an excellent school. There is a primary and secondary school in the centre if Timoteo not far to travel at all - they also provide a school bus for senior school. Our son is now fluent and doing well at school with lots of friends so is very happy. We love living in Tíjola it’s a true spanish village and everyone is very friendly but hardly any English. We are still learning wish we had done that before we came.

Good luck and enjoy
