Hi,

Interested to know if anyone lives in a mobile home and how you find it? We are coming out to visit Savannah park and  Los Gallardos this month currently unsure if we should buy an apartment or mobile home.

Any pros and cons your can share would be great?

Hiya Jenny...The problem with buying a 'mobile home', is that you will be forever paying 'ground rent', and in essence, you will never totally own your property...

Yes, some communities are ok, but it is always 'tight-fit' and I'm sure, that should you be able to 'buy' a property, it would pay dividends in the future.

Plus...Should you DO buy a mobile home, then you are always in the pockets of the landowner who may stipulate certain rules about buying a new/replacement home...Please be VERY careful, there are unfortunately some very 'iffy' people out there, who are not considering YOUR personal circumstances. I WOULD buy bricks and mortar, it is worth it in the long run!

Hope this helps you..🅱️.

Thanks Bryan. We are also looking at an apartment we just wanted to compare both as I know mobile homes have become popular recently.

With the tax’s and all you have to pay with an apartment it’s didnt seem far off the costs of ground rent but I understand what you mean about never fully owning with a mobile home. Lots to think about and consider.

Thank you

Jenny

I agree with Bryan, and as we have a property in Los Galllardos on Heuerta Nueva I can say that it is a great place to live and I do think that bricks and mortar is definitely better than than a mobile home which you would never really have own in the same way.

We currently live on Savannah Park Resort at the minute, mobile homes are great and are very spacious,if you want to down size and they are your thing, yes you have your ground rent, which is fixed for the next 2 or 3yrs,but we only class this as your maintenance fees, which you would have anyway with an apartment if on a complex, buying a mobile home you don't have any taxes to pay either,so what you see is what you get, they might not be everyone's cup of tea,but we love them and also the park ax well, hope this helps
