You will need a car definitely. Depending on your age. Good luck. Sorry cant be more positive. A nice area if you are very mobile and are prepared to drive everywhere.

See my response regarding your other msg. Also, because of its height, Cabrera is frequently encased by low cloud. So whilst it may bright and sunny lower down, it can be cooler/colder also foggy/misty and grey ( with views blocked by the clouds).

Been here last 3 months, seen a cloud! Also spent the best part of the last 4 winters in Cabrera, sometimes it's in the clouds, or even above the clouds, in shorts & short sleeve shirt at Christmas, sunbathing on new Year days, yes, it is a little cooler than on the flat, but it is very lovely. Yes you have to drive for provisions and the beach, but both aren't far.

I wonder if you are able to answer some of these queries please?
Is it easy to get a telephone line put in? internet? satellite tv?
Also what is the position in getting your own pool put in? (if you have already done so...how much does a sunken tiled pool cost? (say 4x8)

As regards a pool first check the local regulations regarding planning permission for the construction of "in ground " pools as even though there may be other pools already in the vicinity, planning restriction regulations can and do change regularly. I have a Villa in the nearby Sierra Filabres. There was a pool there when I purchased the property 5 years ago, but it was in such poor condition that the decision was taken to rebuild, using the same shape of the original pool as a footprint ti keep costs down (hence no new excavation work was required). The new pool cost 18k. With excavation work and possible planning permission certificates ( perhaps involving the cost of employing an architect and/or surveyor, as well as the actual builder) you could well see costs of around 20k plus.

Thank you so much for your advice. I had thought the figure was probably around £20000 but I suspect more now as no hole already!
