Can anyone recommend a good restaurant  in San Juan de los Terreros?  We went this evening,Tues, and all were closed apart from one very crowded place, with a less than friendly bouncr on the door! Ended up buying food from Spar to bring home!

L'escala, the pizzeria, is a good restaurant.  Tasty pizzas, but also other tasty dishes.  On the corner is a new restaurant, a gastrobar, which we are going to try this afternoon, May 26.  Heard this one is good.  You can also eat well at Gemva.  And at La Venta the paella is very tasty.  If you like tapas I recommend La Brucha.  Good luck with your search and enjoy your meal.

Thanks for your reply Anette.  We are on our way home now but will try the restaurants you mentioned when we return in October.

Hi Pat,

Very curious to know which restaurant in Terreros had a bouncer on the door!  Can't think of anywhere that would need one. Hope you have more luck on your next visit! There are plenty to choose from.

Regards

Kevin

Hi Kevin and thanks for replying.  I couldn't believe it either!  All of the restaurants were closed on the Tuesday that we went looking for a restaurant apart from one very busy one on a corner almost opposite Grupo Platinum.  A short, large man with a suit and bow tie was on the door.  The place was packed and there were no tables available.  Everyone stared at us as though we had arrived from another planet - all very strange.  San Juan is such a quiet place and where all these people had come from I really don't know!

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

I'm  not condemning it but it didn't  look like a private party to me. Unfortunate that the man at the door looked like a member of the mafia and gave the wrong impression!
