What site is this???? We are seeing even more movement since Brexit above & beyond the usual departures mainly of the elderly fearing illness here and not speaking Spanish and with poorish Medical & Nursing outreach services.

These are uncertain times with concerns regarding pensions and reciprocal healthcare.

Good time to buy though as prices still depressed and the euro buying more.

Best of luck,

Bob and Sandra (Mojacar & Puerto Lumbreras).

Looks like nothing much will happen between the UK and Brussels for 2 years at least if you go off what the papers/media say.

Can't say what medical facilities are like in SSJDLT but over in Huercal Overa there's said to be an excellent hospital and decent doc facilities too, though have yet to need them.

At the end of the day we come here to Spain for the much better weather and lifestyle.

Bite the bullet and learn enough Spanglish to get by. Going back to the UK with all the horror stories one hears with the NHS being ever overcrowded,  more and more underfunded, patients being kept on board ambulances and/or in gurney in corridors for hours on end isn't a prospect I'd be keen to go back to.

Following up on last post the Hospital in Huercal Overa is excellent and there are 2 bed rooms not wards. The A& E is way better than most I worked at in UK. The hospital is clean and well staffed. I would rather be ill here than UK if only for the OTC meds but retain a UK home which we label The Hospice-we would need to be dying to return there and that's only if we were terminal and needed Domiciliary Care (not sure even of that now) & MacMillan.

You said "the Euro buying more" but if bying from the UK in pounds it buys much less

Looking at things from.sellers out here who may be wavering .the weak £/strongish € means THEY get more ££££ so are more prepared to drop their price. You need to try.&'identify those really keen/ desperate to sell &'suggest they leave all.furniture which you can.always use and sell on.&'even their vehicle. Our apartment was left totally equipped although we have subsequently refurnished to our taste. Also,.if you are considering buying to rent there is newish legislation re. ACs. Also the 8% purchase tax you have to pay.

Hope that helps.

Seconded.

Partner just bought a villa and was offered furniture as well as a left hand drive, Spanish reg car on two different deals. Offered but not as givens.

Finding a seller who's prepared to include everything plus a car might be a bit of a long shot but you might get lucky.

As the saying goes, if you don't as, you don't get ! Lol
