Hi

I have two questions about Sea Fishing

Does anyone know where I need to go to get my fishing license?

Can you tell me what you use for bait, lures, dead bait, live bait,

TIA

Tony

Hi Tony, for Andalucia you will need to go to

Agencia De Medio Ambiente Y Agua De AndalucíaLocal government office in Almería, SpainAddress: Calle Hermanos Machado, 4, 04004 Almería, SpainPhone: +34 950 01 11 00

but I have heard rumour that there is a firhing tackle shop in Garrucha harbour that get them?

there are a couple of Brits that have sea fishing boats in that harbour maybe worth trying to get hold of them,

as for bait, from the beach/rocks or boat, squid/prawns,oily fish and any cheap shellfish(mussels etc)and most bright/loud lures

I hear the shop in Garrucha is at the Repsol filling station coming out of Garrucha  to Mojacar

Thanks for the info I really appreciate it, I am in Murcia, just by 1.3 km so I assume will need to go to a Murcian office.

As for the baits thanks so much, am looking forward to starting, what sort of fish can be caught off the coast?

Regards

Tony

If you have an NIE then get your fresh water fishing licence at the same time only good for Murcia region but some decent rivers and lakes, another Spanish anomolie easier to get licences in Murcia,

there is/was a great hotel right next to the dam at the embalse Cenajo

link here

http://ecocenajo.com/

although it says temporarily closed, they had forms for fishing licences and a guy from the ambiente would collect them and post your licence back.

sorry to bore you,

but years ago2000ish BeachcomberJohn his wife and me Dumpercraig (and a lady friend) would stop there, apx 25eu a night dinner bed and breakfast(great food),John and I would fish and the ladies would relax in the spa/pool,drink cava etc, service was great, the ladies sitting at a table by the pool and as the sun moved the waiter moved their chairs and tables for them, until we came back stinking of fish

sorry got sidetracked by good memories,
there are tens of different species, most common Spanish mackerel, octopus,a sort of Bream, sea bass, etc, and beware plenty of Weaver fish,a boat trip with 1 of the 'captains' is money well spent not only for fishing but from seeing the coastline,
put this in google search for loads of interesting bits
