Hi,

We’ve just bought a property in San Juan and hopefully move over (visas pending) later this year. I’m in my late 40’s and wondering what’s the best way to meet people about the same age? I enjoy fitness, music, reading and I’m learning Spanish.

Looking forward to the move. San Juan de Los Terreros is a beautiful place!

Hi,

There’s plenty going on if you look for it. If you’re on FB follow the ayuntamiento de Pulpi, that’s the town hall. They also run Spanish classes in El Cuartel ( community centre ), fitness classes etc. There is a notice board with info.

Unfortunately the majority of us permanent citizens haven’t seen 40 for a while but we’re still young at heart. I’m delighted to hear you are learning Spanish, your experience here will be all the better for it.

Good luck

Thanks Jack. My partner is 61, so I’m sure we’ll have a good mix of friends, younger and young at heart 😊  He was also wondering if there are any cycling or paddle clubs. We’ve also heard about walking football?

Hello.  There are all quizzes and coffee mornings. Cycle groups, a gym at Mar de Pulpi.  You will soon find out once you are here.  Maybe go to a quiz and chat to others to find out what is going it.  Things aren't always advertised.  Lots going on in  nearrby villages too.  Also English films shown weekly in nearby Aguilas.

Hi there and welcome to Terreros as the locals call it.   My name is Jacqui and my husband and I moved here last April.   We are in our late 50’s and enjoy swimming, cycling and walking.   There is a women’s group that meets every Thursday I’ve only been once but everyone was really friendly even though I was the baby of the bunch.   We would be happy to meet up when you come over.  Best wishes with your move.  Jacqui & Steve
