Hello everyone .

The time of year has arrived when I have been reminded that the non residents tax is due . This is the first time we have had to do it as we only bought in SJ last year and the previous owner did it for us .

Both my wife and I are in the deeds.

My understanding is that we both have to submit details, but still only get charged one amount .

We do no let our property out, ever .

I believe you work it out as 1.1 percent of the IBI value of you house then divide that amount by 19 percent which is the tax rate .

My question is. Is it just as simple as that formula, if so how and who do you send and submit paperwork to.

I’ve roughly worked it out and ours is around 120.00 euro. The solicitor has quoted 89 plus vat to do it for us , which has you can see is nearly as much as the cost .

Does anyone do their own please , and how ?

Many thanks

Andy and Bev.

There is a board on the Andalucian Forum dedicated to filling out the models 210 form for non residents tax. It is updated regularly by some very knowledgeable posters on the subject.

Richard

I should add that I will be completing my form next month when I return to the UK and would be willing to share information with you.

Also there a lady called Amanda Oakley ([email protected]) who I understand is very good and her charges are very reasonable and no where near those that you have mentioned

We have used a guy in England for the last few years. His name is John and he is efficient and inexpensive

I am interested in the outcome as well. My solicitor has advised that the court will be 40 euros this year and 50 euros subsequent. I am using her this year but hopefully I will be able to do it cheaper next year

Hi folks

I have received the form 210 back from John. All I need to do is pay when I’m in spain in November . Well that’s what I hope anyway. If it goes smooth I would say the process has been quite easy. The cost of John was 29.95 . I think it’s more if you require them to pay it in your behalf . Something like 12.00 each per person .

Hi there

Glad you used John and yes all you have to do it take it to a bank with the tax -or if you pay at your own bank they will simply take it out of your account.

If you can't get to Spain for some time and you have to pay someone to do it for you at least you know the tax is paid.

He has simplified it for us for quite a few years now and will continue to do so

Hi

Just for information, for those who fill in their own forms and cannot get over to Spain to pay the tax, you can arrange remotely for your bank to do so.

I used to pop into my bank (Solbank) every year to pay the tax but three years ago I was unable to do so. I was pleasantly surprised to learn from them that I could simply send the tax form with an instruction to pay by email. And that is what I have been doing ever since. The bank keeps a copy of my tax form duly stamped as paid, which I pick up at a later date.

We have been paying the agent we bought our property through to do ours for the past few years but they charge 120 euros. I am now tempted to make alternative arrangements. Can anyone tell me where we find the IBI  value as we have an IBI Urbana and an IBI Rustica and each seems to have more than one value.

Many thanks

Kate
