Hello everyone!

First time on the forum!  We are recently retired and are looking to visit Roquetas in April or May next year.  I know that the weather is changable and cannot be predicted exactly, but could anyone tell me what the geneal weather is like from early April to late May.  Is it warm days and cold nights early April and then getting to hot/warm days and cool nights late May?   We want to come as early as possible in the year but we would like to have sunbathing/pool/sea weather during the day so we are looking for mid 20s plus.  Also, does it get progressively sunnier moving from April to May or is it generally the same amount of sunny days?  Any advice welcome!

Thanks!!

Jimmy

Hi Jimmy, I was there last April and the weather wasn't to good, probably not as bad as in the uk but a bit wet and quite windy which I think is quite normal for that time of year in roquetas....it wasn't all bad though but I probably wouldn't go before may again which makes it easier to get a flight into almeria...I said to mum it was lucky we weren't on holiday and were just there to sort out some paperwork otherwise I'd have  been really disappointed....you never know though it may be totally different next year....if I were you I'd probably go may-June and you'd be guaranteed better weather....have a lovely time it's a lovely place...Jane.

We have been in Roquetas for March holidays twice and hardly had any rain. It can get breezy at times and that is a boon in the summer months when it gets very hot. We moved to Roquetas to live in May this year - and it did not rain for 3 months.

Rainfall in April is around 1 inch, it's half that in May. Temperatures are said to be 19-22C at that time, but .... we are getting 25c in December! People swimming in the sea too! Yet the same holiday weather chart on web claims 16C is the high temp for this month, so not reliable - it's maybe an average?

We got 37C in the shade on the terrassa in the summer according to our max-min thermometer. Lowest temp so far 8.8C and we have not yet needed to use any heating indoors.

Check out the Accuweather charts, we find them pretty accurate and there is an iPhone app. That chart suggests that in May the temperature varies between 19c and 31c.
