I have only recently discovered this walking group despite having lived here more than 9 months. It's a group of up to 15 or 20 (mainly Brits) and the walks are each Wednesday at noon from a different spot each week and not always in Roquetas - recently we were in Almerimar, also in Vicar pueblo. The walks cater for all types, usually but not always on the flat. The walk is usually a circular walk with either short-cut or turn-back opportunities for those who do not wish to do the full distance. There are usually no hills along the route but strong shoes or boots are sometimes recommended as parts of the walk can be through grass, sand and a few scattered small rocks. Any difficulty factor is usually indicated beforehand. We usually end up at a local bar and the group leader warns the bar beforehand.

If you are interested just private message me.

Hello

We have a place in La Envia and we only visit about 5 times a year for a week each time however early next year we plan to spend longer over there in the winter. A walking group would be a great way of keeping fit and meeting people. Please send me information for future trips to our holiday home

Thank you

Hi Polly

You will be welcome to join us! This Wednesday nine of us walked along this paseo from Roquetas Gran Plaza area to Aguadulce and back, stopping for tapas and drinks ‘en el camino’...

Please privately post me a message with your email address and I will then ask Bill and John to add you to the mailing list. We also have a Tapas Trail group in Roquetas who meet for tapas and drinks at a different place each Friday lunchtime and sometimes for a curry night Thursday evenings.

The one in Roquetas is no longer active, given the pandemic.

In view of the fact that keeping fit helps people fight Covid would it be better to continue the walking but socially distance or are we not allowed?

Hi Ruth,

I am female and looking for a walking group (not just female)  I can’t do Wednesday afternoons as I work but am free at the weekend if you are interested. Maybe we could get a few people together.
