Hi All

I am hoping to get an appointment with the Oficina De Extranjeria in Almeria sometime in March.  I would like to apply for a NIE number.  I understand that I  take a completed EX15 form with me to the Oficina De Extranjeria and also a copy.   Does anyone know from where I can download a blank EX15 form. I understand that I complete the form online, but from where do I get it.

Thank you.

I would also add that unless your are comfortably conversational in Spanish, you are highly recommended to have someone like C.A.T services assist you.  It’s not just an EX15, there are a variety of other docs that will be needed as well as taxes paid ahead of time

Another question is are you planning on staying longer than 3 months? If so you will require an EX18 (Residencia application) and not an EX15 (application for NIE) and a Residencia application has a slightly different set of requirements

Thank you

Does anyone have the website address for La Oficina De Extranejeros in Almeria.  It is not shown beside the telephone number and address.

Hi there

Well I wish you all the best with your application & if you are in.Roquetas then CAT SERVICES near Huercal Overa may not be very user friendly distance wise.

Totally agree with Dario and although it will cost more a Solicitor/Abogado/Asesoria may be the best way to do. It would certainly  ease your way language-wise & bureaucracy-wise. If you were in UK you could access the www at Spanish Embassy, here you would be looking at about 100€.

We really love Spain but even after 16years find the bureaucracy overwhelming. Way worse than India where we also have a home.

Every.Best Wish,

Bob and Sandra

The address I think you are looking for is the government site to make an appointment.  Not particular to Almería, you can select any province.  Website address is https://sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es/icpplus/

Thank you

I think that I have found the online form on that website that you sent the address for.   I have been trying to read through the information using my google translate - hopefully I'll pick up a few words.  I think that one of the headings prior to viewing the form is

Internet Cita Previa, then I have to select Almeria from a list.

Hope I'm on the right track.

Thanks again

You are - but if you are using Google translate for the site, I would really strongly urge you to get some assistance before presenting at Almería.

I have through experience discovered that Spanish authorities have a love of bureaucracy that is frightening in its intensity.  If you have a form wrong, incorrectly filled out or god forbid a copy or an original not available to present, they WILL turn you away and you will have driven down for nothing.  The Spanish are indeed a beautifully laissez-faire people but oh god the authorities live for and love bureaucracy - I’d ask again, are you certain it’s just the NIE you need? Residencia will give you a NIE as well, and if you are planning on spending longer than 90 days here in any 180 days, you are strongly advised to obtain Residencia prior to whatever happens on March 29th because after .... who knows?

Also, if it is just a NIE you need, please be advised that the Oficina de Extranjeria in Almería now require some form of proof that you need a NIE - i.e. a pre-sales invoice for a car or similar and the resulting certificate will be clearly marked that it’s sole use should be for purpose of whatever purchase you have specified.  You can no longer obtain a NIE just because you might need one - you do have to show proof.

Yes I am usually in Roquetas De Mar and Huercal Overa seems to be quite a distance away, otherwise I would use the CAT Services.  I did look up the website for CAT services and the NIE section was unavailable at present.  I will probably end up using the services of a solicitor, Abogado, Asesoria as I am finding the application quite difficult - mainly because of the language barrier.  It would be worth paying  for such services.

It certainly will be worth your while - there are various English speaking functionaries that can assist; I’m not sure who to recommend as we used our Asesoria here in Vera .... fantastic person, does everything very quickly .... but speaks no English.  I amended my previous post to add a little bit about requirements for NIE etc - did you see that?
