Hi - Roquetas is a great choice it has an excellent mix of nationalities. We purchased an apartment on the edge of Playa Serena off of Calle Sierra Nevada. There are a great selection of apartments vila etc dependant upon budget. We purchased a 2 bedroom 1st floor apartment in a small development with pool and gardens.

Tips; get your NIE and Bank Account sorted asap. Try and do this whilst you are visiting Bank Account took about 30 mins to open at Sabadell in Roquetas. We used a company called mynie to get the NIE sorted it was fairly straightforward. This needs to be completed in Spanish so that is why we used a third party. The Consulate in London ai hard to get an appointment and does not take phone calls.

Dont be affraid to negotiate hard and check the service/community charge and budget for anywhere between 10 - 13% for purchase costs. There are great estate agents and solicitors in Roquetas as well. If there is anything specic you would like to ask fire away. KR David

That area is just off the Autoavia i believe near Aguadulce and Vicar it is about a 10 minute drive to Roquetas centre but very close to the hypemarket and Envia Golf. Good Luck and good hunting. David

Hi,

I have an apartment in the area (La Envia Golf) and love the area, just a shame several trips have already been cancelled this year.  The biggest benefit to us was finding a great solicitor in the area with a lot of experience who also acted as our power of attorney (small additional fee), saved us a fortune prior to completion on our property with regard to opening accounts and attaining our NIE.  With our limited but growing Spanish, fluent English was also a huge advantage in those early days when appointing someone.  I can pass on details if you're looking for recommendations, they are based in Roquetas.

Miguel Gonzales Raya.  His email address is: [email protected].

We've had our place 18 months and this was supposed to be our first full year with it all 100% and not needing anything further.  It is a real shame, but we will have it for many years to come.  We are hopeful to be out for 3 weeks in August, we'll see.  La Envia has proven to be good so far...only down side and it is minor, is the need for a car at all times and it is hilly!  But we just love the area...still a well kept secret from most!

Good luck with your hunting and if you're a golfer, drop me a message some time on here.

That's very kind of you,i will indeed contact him.It would be great to meet up at some point in the future.I have done quite a lot of research about moving to Spain and buying property but it would be a great help to speak to someone who has actually done it.Have a good weekend.Kevin.

Good morning, will you still be coming in September?

We live in Playa Serena about 5 minutes from the gold club and right next to the nature park, we also own an apartment in the area, let me know if we can help somehow.
