Hello all and thank you for having me here!

I'm looking to move to Roquetas De Mar from Italy next year and am actively searching for an English Teaching Job there.

I've done a lot of research and found a few schools and sent off email but i know it's quite early, early bird gets the worm and all that!

One thing i can't seem to locate is a Local Message Board online where i could post my CV.

Or something of that description!

So if anyone knows of such a website i would be very grateful if they could pint me in the right direction.

Or even better if anyone knows or could recommend schools or teaching facilities that i could apply to.

Also before becoming a teacher i worked in bars and nightclubs around the world for 17 years so if there are any bars looking for a part time, moderately handsome englishman to pull a few pints then i'm your guy.

Thanks in advance everyone and enjoy the the sun!

Not trying to dampen your enthusiasm but you do know that there is a high unemployment rate here amongst young Spanish people? All of whom speak Spanish! The main benefit when trying to get work here - even bar work - is speaking Spanish. There is not much demand for English speakers ...

But good luck with your search.

Chris

Hey,

There is lots of work available here for English language teachers. I was actually offered 8 jobs in the space of a few days!

The recruitment period tends to be from Easter onwards and it's much better to be here to be interviewed.

Not knowing Spanish isn't a major problem, although some schools will insist on a basic level of Spanish.

Your problem would be surviving economically. Pay is around 1000 euro a month (with no pay for 2 or 3 months in summer). Rents are around 450 to 550 for a flat. If you can share you'd be able to manage quite easily.

Good Luck!

Cheers for your reply, I've worked in Spain before and understand the pay and general process.

I currently live in Italy and it's much the same but would like to move back.

Are there any local websites that i can check out?

Thanks for your time, very grateful!

Have a good evening!

Try getting in contact McGinty Academy in Almeria city. Contact details on their website which you get thru Google. Ask to speak to Katy Malcolm and say Sue Lewis saw your post and thought she might have something available or be able to advise.  No promises but Katy will be very helpful. Good luck.
