I have to attend Almeria hospital daily for six weeks. As we live in Albox does anyone know of any cheap accomodation in the area please.

if you have to go daily then you can get transport from your home to the hospital and back through the ambulance services. Ask at your medical centre.

Hi there. When I was in that situation, exactly two years ago, we rented a beautiful apartment near to Roquetas and came home just at the weekend. I can PM you the details if you wish. It's a beautiful area to be in.

My husband used the ambulance everyday for his 38 session in Almeria. They cover Albox, there was someone travelling from Partaloa.

First of all, so sorry that you have this health problem and do hope that your treatment will give good results. .

I would suggest that you look on Bookings.com.  The areas in Almeria near to the hospital (if it is Torre cárdenas) are Villa InĂ©s, and the immediate area known as Torrecardenas. If I was in your place, I would be looking in Villa InĂ©s which is a modern urbanisation with short and easy bus access to the hospital. There are shops, banks and everything you might need very close by and the modern apartment blocks have private or street parking and lifts.

There can be a lot of traffic between Almeria and Roquetas if you are thinking of looking there,  but personally in your position I would prefer to be a stone's throw from the hospital.

doesn't matter where you live you are entitled to the transport if required to attend a hospital outside of your area the only problem is that depending on who else is on board and where they live you may get picked up very early and get home very late.  on some days i was picked up at 7.20 for a 9am appointment in radiology and sometimes waited until 2pm for the trip home which once was via the Sierra Cabrerra area.  other days i was the only passenger and the driver was waiting for me when i came out.  It was worth it though to save the cost of travel and worry about parking the car.  and if you need a partner to go with you they can.

That is true Alicia, but if you live in Albox it will take a very big slice out of your day go to and fro to Almeria, in an ambulance., possibly diverting to pick up others on your way - I certainly wouldn't like to do it myself for any more than a couple of days!

I my previous post I would like to amend what I wrote earlier about finding an apartment to rent in Almeria as there would be a shortage of short lets there and it certainly  would be easier to find such a thing in Aguadulce or Roquetas.  The cheapest of all would actually be a hotel or hostal (bookings.com) near the  hospital. Also there's a very reasonable hospital restaurant near the hotel entrance hall where they do a 3 course meal of the day, breakfasts etc.
