Before taking out health insurance it is best to hear other people's experiences with related companies. My own experience with ASSSA is disappointing. They take your expensive policy money and promise you that you are covered with immediate access to medical care. This is far from the truth. At every stage you are required to get ASSSA authorisation which they promise will be within 72 hours. At the moment I'm still waiting for this 168 hours later, AGAIN. This is after sending them urgent reminders. Beware before you consider putting your health needs in the hands of this dubious company.

Agreed. They stopped paying for my scan and other tests when I became ill, as they said I hadn’t disclosed an existing condition, which wasn’t the case. I had to go through a lot of hassle to get the correct treatment and I actually had cancer. Luckily I was accepted onto the Andalusian healthcare system for free. The delay getting things sorted nearly cost me my life. Initially a small tumour was found in my kidney, but by the time I had surgery it had grown to 21 cms. Then the cheek of it they tried taking the following year ‘s premium even though they stopped covering me.

Pleased you got treatment, eventually. The ASSSA staff at Vera appear to be very lazy and incompetent from my experiences with them. I found out that they didn't even request authorisation until I sent them a reminder email 3 days later. Very poor service from a "healthcare" company.
