Hi, Coming out for 2 weeks in August, we are staying at the urbanisation. Can we walk to the grand plaza from there please? Also, is there other places we can walk to for a family with 2 kids? Does Roquetas old town have shops etc and if so how do we get there please? Looking for days out/trips for a family to do if anyone knows of any please? We have been there a couple of years ago but didn't venture far. Oh and are there any supermarkets that deliver please? If not, can you rec ommend a good supermarket to use please? Thank you in advance

From the urbanisation it’s possible to walk to Gran Plaza but not advisable, it’s quite a trek and there is a bus to Roquetas and to Aguadulce and to Almeria that costs just €2 and stops at the Gran Plaza.

Roquetas ‘old’ town? It’s not that old and it does have lots of shops. It also has a cinema - at the Gran Plaza.

There is a 14km paseo (promenade) that is paved and with a cycle track that goes all the way to Aguadulce and in the opposite direction to the nature reserve. You can hire bikes and scooters here. There is an amusement park (Castor Park) on the Avenida Mediterráneo - open Sundays in January. At the other end of the Avenida is the Mercadona supermarket. It’s large but I don’t think it does deliveries.

If you want more info the best place is Facebook, search ‘Roquetas de Mar’ and join us - there are plenty on there that can answer your questions.

Enjoy Roquetas!

Chris
