Hi all.

Does anyone know the area surrounding Club De Gold Playa Serena we are looking at getting a place around this side of the town. Wondering if it is a nice place and how close it is to everything. Anything we should know about the area?
Also is there much going on for children that side? 3 under 11.

Thank you as always.

Hi Simon, we have a place here over looking the golf course and it’s the best place to be :)

It’s close to many shops, bars and restaurants, and just a walk to the other end of the town (about 2 miles) there is a large playground/activity centre which tends to open between May - September. There are plenty of arcades and also an indoor play area within The hotel Bahia which again only opens in peak season as with a lot of places like that. We have a 4 year old and never run out of things to do. If you are able to drive this gives you a few more options of course. The Gran Plaza shopping centre (about 15 mins drive) has a large indoor play area which tends to open all year as we have been there when the weather is not so good, and I think children get around 1 hour for about €6, (worth every penny)! There is a large water park (Mario Park) again about a 15 minute drive, but otherwise you won’t be disappointed :)
I would say between the holiday season (June-September) everything is up and running as the Spanish tend to holiday here too. However out of season can be very quiet, but there are quite a few general playgrounds scattered around town which are of course there all year round to enjoy. I hope this helps, :)

Thank you Sarah. That’s a brilliant insight very helpful. Are there many restaurants and bars open out of season in that area? I know most wont be but just thinking if we are there say in winter time that we know there is still an option to go out.
Thanks again for your help.

You’re welcome, a lot of the restaurants take their holidays out of season, so it can mean a limited choice, but the local spanish bars and restaurants are always open for locals. Some places may take one day off a week for a “rest day” but these tend to vary so you shouldn’t be stuck every day of the week.
However you will always find somewhere to eat :) or worst case scenario there’s always spanish just eat app :)

Spanish arn’t very consistent like England, if they have no customers one evening they will just close!! But I would tend to stick to the local spanish restaurants where you know there is a good turn around of food :)

Any other advice or places to eat nearer the time just ask :)

Hope it all works out, I can assure you you won’t be disappointed. It’s a very family friendly place, not for those who like a heavy nightlife. (Luckily for us)!

Thank you again. That’s very valuable info. Have a lovely day, I’m currently sat out in the garden blazing in the sun.... getting used to it :)

Same! Although we were actually supposed to be out there now! 😩

Although weather here is easing the pain slightly! (I can’t even convince myself)!!

Take care and enjoy :)
