I think Theresa May is on the verge of resigning . . . you heard it here first from a disgruntled Paddy . . . I hope I'm wrong . . .

God no - that would be disasterous at this point!! I mean, she’s hopeless, but she pulls the pin now and you’ll get one of the hardline “no deal” maniacs then we are all stuffed!

It’s possible she might be offering to resign IF her wretched deal gets up at the third attempt

I don't think there is much future for Theresa May as Prime Minister; her days are numbered and the whole British nation has been backed into a corner under their own fuel. Brexit has been hailed for the past three years as the Promised Land.  Even the panama hatted smug half pint bores on Mojacar Playa are beginning to see this now. Nothing is a "given" now. Theresa now has got to go to Brussels today with cap-in-hand asking for an extension period. It has to be a unanimous decision by her EU neighbours to grant this. Even Spain is baulking now and is supporting the French view that an extension to 30th June is not good for the EU. The probability is that the exit date will be before then. The UK doesn't have too many external friends on the matter. I am glad to say Rep. of Ireland is a friend historically forgotten by UK governments.

Last night at 8.32pm Theresa May distanced herself and the Tory party from what is the reality of being a UK citizen. Her speech cannot be described as other than being self preservation. We learned nothing new and it would be interesting to count the number of times she stated "I" - She is blaming all other politicians for the embarrassment the UK is suffering. Newsflash! Theresa, look in the mirror to see one who is to blame. With the exception of some brown nosed Tories Theresa is out on a limb and even Boris is nowhere to be seen.

Meanwhile, even Sainsburys has rented more storage space in Wales to stockpile even toilet paper. And that's only a start, shelves in pharmacies will have empty shelves if Brexit goes ahead. But, the UK will have control over its borders, its money, its government and the NHS is due to be oversupplied with money normally sent to the EU. Believe this and you should be reading The Beano instead of newspapers and some of the posts here.

I believe Theresa will be granted an extension, the length of which, I don't know. I guess the next exit date will be before the 30th June. After that, I reckon it will be extended again. A general election will be called sooner rather than later and I believe Brexit won't happen. I hope I'm right, because if I ain't there is an unknown future in Spain for Brits avoiding the rain.

I pray you are right too - there’s also a petition on Government site to Revoke Article 50 and remain in EU.  I’m sure some of the half-pint bores of which you speak will laughingly deride that as only going to get “a few” signatures...... as of a few moments ago, after two days, it has garnered in excess now of 610.000 signatures and number is growing (see Here)

I would hope that sanity prevails and a second referendum now becomes the only viable option left, necessitating a much longer extension and, yes, elections for European Parliament.

I would like to think that a referendum or a general election will take place but time is rapidly being run down. We have just 8 days left and the EU has lost patience that the U.K. parliament can ever reach agreement on anything Brexit - like the U.K. it is split down the middle and no majority for anything.

So an extension was only offered yesterday by the EU until 22 May - initially May said she wanted a longer extension (to try and see off her ERG Brexit zealots), then she wanted a 3 month one (because her Brexit ministers threatened to resign). Strong and stable?

EU leaders are clearly thinking it would be best to get shot of us - so much for that claim that ‘They Need Us More Than We Need Them’! And that short extension offered by then is only valid if May gets her deal passed next Monday...

So it’s looking like an ignominious No Deal is still on the cards. Thetefore I will keep posting the UK Govt No Deal notices that apply to those of us living in Spain...

I'm not in Spain at the moment. But, when I was there in November and December many of the Brit expats were getting bored to death regarding Brexit. I'm sure they're more bored now.

I rang some of my Brit friends over the past week and even those who were staunch Brexiteers have now changed their minds. To be honest, if I were voting 3 years ago on the referendum and with the misinformation available to me at the time I would have voted for Brexit too (mostly as a protest vote).

But, 3 years on we've all had time to reflect and I reckon we need another referendum in the UK. It's not guaranteed that the "Remain" factions will win, but at least, it will clear the air on whether the UK wishes to ditch the EU or remain part of it.

I think it will - it will be a vote on what we know, as opposed to what nebulous promises were made

The petition, incidentally, now has close to a million signatures - 973.000 a short while ago

I checked the Paddy Power website just now:-

(i) 2nd Referendum on EU membership to take place in 2019:- 1/7 No, 4/1 Yes.

(ii) Article 50 to be revoked before the end of 2020:- 1/4 No, 5/2 Yes.

Months ago I predicted that the UK would get a 2 month extension on Brexit from 29th March. Although not guaranteed, it appears this will happen. I also predicted that a two year extension would take place from the end of the 1st extension.

Theresa May's days as Prime Minister are numbered. None of the above bets is good value. But, I would be interested in a bet that the UK will still be a member of the EU at the end of 2021. (If anybody has seen odds on this please advise, it will be worth a punt).
