Hi all, out of pure desperation to be back we have booked to return to our place in Roquetas in August.
Just wondering if anyone can tell me exactly how it is out there? We love going to Scotia, and the Firenze to eat and drink? Does anyone know if they are open, and if so what the restrictions are?

Do you have to wear a mask everywhere in public including bars etc?
can you go to the supermarkets as a family of 3 or is it one person only?

I’m assuming the playgrounds won’t be open which I understand but I just want to know how restricted we will be in terms of our usual holiday!

Any information would be great

Thanks all x

Hi Sarah. You have booked to come over to Roquetas de Mar in August.

These times are very uncertain for all of us... But at the moment, Scotia is open, i don't know about Firenze..alot of the resturants and some hotels are open. I moved to live here in Roquetas at the beginning of lockdown in March.. So things have not been easy (alot better now) But when you come i do recommend you use your masks.. In resturants you can take them off obviously, but i would make sure the place you choose to dine respect social distancing, i notice some do not. So choose wisely..There are no restrictions on how many go shopping, but again, use hand wash before you enter and keep mask on. I notice some here are to relaxed about things..really you need to protect your family, as the virus has not gone away..if you can obey the rules on social distancing and wear masks, you are doing well.. Enjoy your probably well needed holiday.. Fiona😊

Hi Fiona, thank you so much for this info very helpful indeed. Great news Scotia is open :) that’s the main thing! Haha

We do have our place out there so have already decided we will most likely eat in most nights for our own piece of mind. But great news on the whole it sounds like things are moving in the right direction.

Hopefully you will be able to enjoy normal summer next year in your new home :)

Thanks again for the info, very much appreciated :)

Take care x

Hi Sarah

We were there a couple of weeks ago & found things a lot more relaxed ( if that is the correct way to describe it) than where we live which is Malaga area. We found a lot of people were not using masks, Spar had no social distancing whatsoever in store, I appreciate it is quite difficult in that store but no one seemed to even try. People hugging people ( their choice).  I would just do what you feel best for you & what you are comfortable with. I carry hand sanitizer with me & we always have our masks with us.  Just stay safe & enjoy your time there.

Thanks Maggie this is very helpful, good old Roquetas relaxed as always. As you say good in a way, but good to keep ourselves to ourselves 😃

Thank you for the reply, has made me feel a bit happier about going. Take care x

I would just be careful,  for us we thought it was a little too relaxed, some people didn't seem to care they carried on as if nothing was wrong. It's up to each ndividual I guess. We were very careful where we went & looked at what measures where in place before going into any bar, having said that the ones we used we pretty good.

We only went in 3-4 bars this time & sat outside at all of them, all were pretty good. Tapa 20 & Lillys are great for food & drink. Lillys Sunday lunch is really good. Coconut is a favourite, lovely bar & great Sangria, Scotia - for one of their ice creams, sooo nice.
