The concierge at our building has said lockdown is from now but we have seen it mentioned that the lockdown is from 8am Monday. Are bars, restaurants open in the urbanisacion right now?

The lockdown in Spain is national, everywhere and immediate after Sanchez announced the Royal decree yesterday. No bars or restaurants are open. Stay in - aside from food shopping and dog walking/toiletting.

Best wishes

Chris (also in Roquetas and locked in 😟)

The Royal Decree and State of Alarm of yesterday is that only essential travel is permitted. It’s doubtful that your journey to the ferry port would be legitimate but maybe ring the Ferry company?

Best wishes

We have recently booked a weeks holiday at the Angel Hotel in Roqueta  de Mar for the 1st August 2020. Just heard on the news that Spain is considering going into lockdock again. Can anyone confirm if this includes or affects  Roqueta de Mar Please.

No. It's not true! Spain is not going into lockdown again but there are a number of outbreaks across the country, albeit the infections, hospitalisation and death toll is nothing like that in England. Where are you coming from? As Scotland and Ireland are relatively benign.

You will find that masks have to be worn except when in a bar or cafe etc. I don't know if the hotel you mention is open, best to ring it direct. Another option is to join the Roquetas Facebook forum where Brit locals can respond.

Chris

Thank you for putting my mind at rest. We live in Gibraltar,  so are able to drive to Roquteta. Gibraltar are now coming  out of Phase 6 of the lock down. So i phoned the Angel Hotel  last week and they're open to which we have stayed  inseveral times.  We absolutely love it there. We have no problem wearing masks. We just need to get out of Gib and couldn't think of any better place than Roquteta to stay for a week.
