Landslide
Hi,
I am looking for advice. At the back of our house, we have a steep and high sandy hill. How can we prevent that the sand is sliding down in an economical way ?
Thanks,
Eddy

Hi Eddie
One option will be to cover and re-inforce the hill with mesh.
Different types of erosion prevention mesh can be found in the net and the shops.
Doesn’t need to be something fancy but something that will not deteriorate quickly due to the sun. Insert metal rods to keep from slipping.
Other option is introducing scutch grass just be aware that once it catches it will be almost impossible to get rid of!
Very hard long roots going true everything and supports loose ground well.
Seen it in the Canary Island where nothing else grows on the volcanic rock.
My garden in the Bulgarian sea side was covered with this over very poor soil and stone and sand.
If cut regularly becomes very thick and smooth.Together with some mesh if you can afforded it will definitely stop the erosion.
Cynodon dactylon, known as Bermuda grass, Dhoob, dūrvā grass, ethana grass, dubo, dog's tooth grass,[2] Bahama grass, devil's grass, couch grass, Indian doab, arugampul, grama, wiregrass and scutch grass/
