Just come back from a trip to almeria and had a offer excepted in purchena. Really excited. Just wanted to know about taxes in spain and whether we have to pay anything when we move there on a permanent basis. We would also like to start to meet expats as well as locals. Any info would be gratefully received. Dawn

Hi Dawn,

My in laws have lived in Purchena for 13 years now. It’s a lovely town with everything you need. The people are very friendly if you make an effort to speak Spanish. There is a bar in the town square and another on the main road where they frequent at the weekends. We are visiting them second week of May as we will be house hunting as we want to make the move!

It’s very cheap to live in Spain. The estate agents and solicitors will tell about the taxes and fees you have to pay.

Good luck!

Michelle

Hi Dawn

We are in the process of buying in El Campillo de Purchena.  Although it's nearer to Oria, it is a couple of metres outside of the Oria border and falls under the Purchena ayuntamiento.  Can you recall what % tax you paid for your property?  I know it differs between town halls.

thanks

Jen

Hi

We are Sandra and Neil and we have our eye on a property in Purchena. Does anyone know how brexit will affect us buying the house? Probably a stupid question really but we do not know weather to go ahead or not.
